If your child is ill you must let the school know.

You can do this by calling the school on 682190 and leaving a message or speaking to a member of staff. You can also let the class teacher know directly.

Diarrhoea and/or vomiting

Recommended period to be kept away from school:

48 hours after the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting.


Chicken Pox

Recommended period to be kept away from school:

5 days from onset of rash.

Chickenpox is a common childhood illness that causes a rash of itchy spots that turn to fluid-filled blisters 


German Measles/ Rubella

Recommended period to be kept away from school:

6 days from onset of rash.

A red-pink rash is a common symptom of rubella 


Impetigo

Recommended period to be kept away from school:

Until lesions are crusted and healed, or 48 hours after commencing antibiotic treatment.

Impetigo is a highly contagious skin infection which causes sores and blisters. It's very common and affects mainly children.


Measles

Recommended period to be kept away from school:

4 days from onset of rash.


Shingles

Recommended period to be kept away from school:

Exclude only if rash is weeping and cannot be covered

Shingles is an infection of a nerve and the skin around it. It is caused by the herpes varicella-zoster virus, which also causes chickenpox.
