Dr Margaret Culshaw

Margaret Culshaw(1)

I am delighted to have the opportunity to be a governor at Scholes J and I school. I am a pharmacist, also married to a pharmacist and have lived in Holmfirth since 1998. Both our children attended local schools and their education has provided them both with the opportunities to meet their ambitions. I am passionate about giving every child the early education which enables them to do anything they want to do.

I have worked in the NHS for over 20 years, some of it spent supporting our local GPs and more recently for 12 years at the University of Huddersfield.

I hope my experience of health and higher education will provide a useful perspective for Scholes.

Mrs Tina Thornton

Tina Thornton

I have been married for almost thirty years and have two grown up daughters.

I initially started training as an accountant but gave up work to have my eldest child. I have been working with young children for over 15 years and am currently Assistant Head Teacher and Year 1 Teacher at Scholes J & I School. I have been teaching here for over 7 years, working in both Early Years and Key Stage 1. I have a real passion to understand how children learn and to that end completed my M.A in Early Childhood Studies in 2011.
