Welcome to Scholes School

Scholes Junior and Infant School in Holmfirth is a one-form entry community primary school for children from Reception to Year 6. We pride ourselves on the development of our pupils' personal development which means their kindness and thoughtfulness shines through. Our school bases it's ethos around the KIND values which form part of our celebration assebly each week.

Our pupils love attending school and the classrooms are full of the 'buzz of learning' where staff provide engaging and exciting activities to not only teach the core curriculum, but to also enrich pupil learning experiences.

Our vision is to make Scholes Junior & Infant School a place where every individual feels cared for, valued, and supported to do their best in everything they do. We create an ethos of mutual respect and commitment to hard work that will give pupils the resilience to meet the challenges that life presents.

The original school building was built in 1908 but has been modernised over the years, most significantly in 1976 and again in 1982. In 2004 there was an additional mezzanine level extension above the main building. We have extensive grounds for outdoor play and learning including a purpose designed ‘Stadium’ which provides for lots of different sports.

We hope you all have a happy and safe Summer Holiday. School re-opens to children on Tuesday 6th September

Please be courteous to our neighbours / local residents when dropping off or picking up your child from school. There have been repeated problems with residents being blocked in / out - particularly around the garages in Broomhill Close. We always encourage our parents who choose to use the car to 'park and stride' for the benefit of everyone around Scholes School.
